Edmonton MP speaks at Bain Park Rally
Ottawa – Peter Goldring, Member of Parliament for Edmonton East, will be the keynote speaker as the Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance (JMA) roars into Bain Park on Thursday May 31 at 4:30 p.m. for a special ceremony to pay tribute to Canada’s veterans.
Riders from Canada, the US, Israel, Australia and the United Kingdom will pass through Trenton on their way to a rally in Toronto and stop at the site of the Afghan Repatriation Memorial for a short ceremony that is open to the public. Earlier in the day the riders will gather on Parliament Hill to draw attention to world genocide, remembering the Holocaust and pledging “Never Again.”
The Bain Park ceremony will include prayers from a chaplain from CFB Trenton, a short speech lauding Canada’s Sacrifice in Afghanistan from an American perspective give by American media personality Joyce Kaufman, a donation on behalf of Jewish bikers to the Afghanistan Memorial and the address by Mr. Goldring.
“We can’t do enough to thank those who have served Canada in uniform, and their families, for the sacrifices they make on behalf of all of us,” Mr. Goldring says. “On Parliament Hill we will be speaking against genocide and pledging ‘Never Again.’ In order for that pledge to become a reality we at times have to confront evil in a direct fashion, and the members of the Canadian military have always been prepared to fight for the cause of freedom and against oppression.”
Following the rally some of the bikers will proceed to Toronto to take part in JMA events there, while others will remain in Trenton to take part in the Heroes Highway Ride on Saturday June 2.
